While the margins of defeat are getting better, the Pasadena City College men's basketball can't keep up with the rest of the South Coast Conference. The Lancers finished the first half of SCC North Division play winless at 0-4 after home losses v. LA Trade-Tech and Mt. San Antonio earlier this week.

On Feb. 2, the Lancers (1-18 overall) got to within five v. Trade-Tech on a Joseph Rousseau layup with 2:36 left, but the Beavers and Dahmaj Warren's triple-double of 34 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists pulled away for an 86-72 victory. It was Trade-Tech's third win of the year (3-15).

For PCC, Jordan Flowers posted 22 points (five treys), five assists and five rebounds while Brandon Torimaru scored his season-high 18 points with four steals. Charles Jones added 11 points and Rousseau contributed 10 points and seven boards. The Lancers converted a season best with 13 made baskets from 3-point land.

In an 83-68 loss on Friday v. Mt. SAC, Flowers again led PCC with 23 points (this time coming off the bench) while Devan Ford totaled 21 points and six steals. Nathaniel Carter also played well with 10 points and eight rebounds. PCC led 11-10 but the Mounties (14-5, 3-1, second place in SCC North) took control, leading 41-28 by halftime and never were threatened in the second half.

Mt. SAC was paced by Dyren Brown who scored 16 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.

PCC will meet its match so to speak on Monday, Feb. 7 when it plays at El Camino College in a 5 p.m. crossover game. The Warriors are 1-19 and 0-6 in SCC South Division play.
