Lancer Kristopher Gutierrez was named SCC North Co-Goalie of the Year this season.

Kristopher Gutierrez highlighted the Pasadena City College men's soccer selections on this year's All-South Coast Conference North Division Team by being named as the Co-Goalie of the Year. The sophomore was one of five Lancers chosen.

Gutierrez made a conference-high 95 saves and played every minute of the 9-game, SCC regular season. He started in 19 of the team's 21 games and posted a misleading 2.64 goals against average as he often kept the team close against seven South Coast teams that qualified for the SoCal Regional Playoffs.

He had come back from first playing for PCC five years ago. Gutierrez (from Bishop Amat High) is fourth on the Lancers all-time list for games played by a goalie and his 122 career saves is sixth best in school history. He is the first Lancer honored with one of the top two conference awards since goalie Gaetano Perez was selected Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2013.

Freshman striker Esai Matchan, who tied for the most goals scored in the entire 10-team conference with 13, joined Gutierrez on the All-SCC North First Team along with letterman midfielder Kareem Browne (three goals, two assists). The speedy Matchan (La Serna HS) totaled 32 points, tying for third in the SCC scoring race.

Making the All-SCC North Second Team were frosh midfielder Osmar Rojas (Pasadena High), who scored five goals and was fourth in the conference in assists with eight helpers, and frosh striker Jose Gonzalez (Baldwin Park High), who had a goal and two assists while providing speed and creative playmaking along with Matchan up front.

Osmar Rojas (10) and Esai Matchan were part of PCC's All-SCC selections
