The Pasadena CIty College men's soccer team put together a full, 90-minute effort in blanking host Orange Coast, 2-0, on Friday.

The Lancers (4-2) scored in the 21st minute as Diego Lazo scored his team-leading fifth goal, taking a pass from Angel Ballesteros

In the 80th minute, Alex Petrossians knocked in an insurance goal on an assist from Andrew Perez.

Goalie Rayshon Robert only had to make two saves as the PCC defense of Perez, Diego Flores, Alek Kaprielian, and Josiah Lucio kept the Pirates (2-2-1) from getting much offensive pressure.

PCC outshout OCC, 14-8, overall.

"We concentrated on eliminating the type of defensive breakdowns we had in our loss at Santa Barbara," said PCC head coach Francisco Cantero. "We have done a good job of creating scoring chances and finishing, but today the whole team focused better on stopping the opponent from getting free in our territory. It was a great team effort."

Pasadena plays at LA Pierce on Tuesday, Sept. 17 in a 4 p.m. kickoff.
