Pasadena City College freshman Sam Regan qualified for the A cut in the 1,650-yard freestyle and B cut for the 500 freestyle at the upcoming CCCAA State Swimming and Diving Championships to take place at East Los Angeles College May 5-7.

Regan, the lone swimmer making up the 2022 PCC men's swim team, scored all 47 points as PCC placed seventh at the South Coast Conference Championships held April 21-23 also at ELAC.

The 5-foot-6 freshman from Arroyo High placed second in the 500 at the SCC meet, swimming a 4:59.36 time. He scored third with a season-best 17:22.73 in the mile swim, which places him 12th in the state in that event. Regan was fifth in the 200 freestyle (1:51.87) but did not qualify for state in the event.
