Sam Regan won the 500 and 1,000-yard freestyle events but the Pasadena City College men's swim team fell short v. host Long Beach CC, 162-80 while just being edged by El Camino, 123-113, in a South Coast Conference double dual meet held Mar. 17.

A couple of close defeats in a few events tipped the scales for El Camino over PCC. In the opening 200 medley relay, the Warriors took second place over PCC's third by .70 of a second. In the 50 freestyle, El Camino's Myles Fourney grabbed second over the Lancers' Joseph Ng, 23.40 to 23.63. In both cases, that gave ECC two first place wins in the dual scoring for the two teams.

Regan won the 500 in a time of 5:12.85 while hitting the wall first in the 1,000 with a winning mark of 10:38.08. Regan scored second overall in the 200 butterfly (2:15.39). Maxwell Ribaya won the 100 freestyle by a wall touch over Long Beach's Manuel Quintcio, 49.88 to 49.94. Ribaya swam second in the 100 butterfly (53.27) and 100 backstroke (56.34).

Javier Becerra took second in the 200 breaststroke (2:41.69) and grabbed third in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.04).

Coach Terry Stoddard's Lancers (1-2 in SCC meets) next travel to face Mt. San Antonio in a dual meet on Friday, Mar. 24 at 10 a.m.
