PCC v. RIO HONDO RESULTS

The only official dual home meet this season for the Pasadena City College men's swim team was a winning one as the Lancers defeated Rio Hondo, 115-100, on Friday at Polytechnic Poly pool.

The Lancers won eight events with Michael Petersen taking first place in the 100 (59.27) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:13.66) plus the 200 individual medley (2:08.56).

Ethan Toro captured wins in the 1,000 freestyle (12:17.92) and 500 free (5:55.68) while Nick Padilla won the 100 (1:02.90) and 200 backstroke (2:19.02) while the 200 medley relay squad of Padilla, Petersen, Toro, and Haofeng Tang opened the meet with a victory at 1:49.82.

The Lancers took part at the Mt. San Antonio Invitational on Saturday, placing 13th place overall. 

Petersen posted one of the state's top times as he was third in the 200 breaststroke in 2:10.95 and took third in the 100 freestyle (48.39). 

Padilla was 25th and Toro 26th in the 200 butterfly. The 4x200 free relay was eighth.

Prior to the Rio Hondo meet, Petersen, Toro, and Javier Becerra (injured) were honored as 2-year lettermen.

Next Friday, Mar. 7, the Lancers participate in the Riverside City College Invitational.
