Men's Track And Field Improves At Pasadena Open

Tobias Humphrey won the 100 meters and had the best collegiate time in the 200 meters behind a group of Team China racers to highlight the Pasadena City College men's track and field team's performances at the Pasadena Open meet held Feb. 22 at Robinson Stadium.

Humphrey won the 100 with a time of 11.46 seconds and his 23.14 mark was 10th overall in the 200, but the fastest college mark. He was also fourth in the long jump at 6.04 meters. Eddie Jones placed third in the 100 (11.56).

The 4x400 relay team of Bryan Torres, Alec Fernandez, Colin Schwantner, and William Su placed third in the event with a time of 3:40.69. Giovanni Guajardo scored sixth in the 5,000 meters at 17:12.35. Diego Escalante took fifth in the 110-meter hurdles (18.09). Myles Keys placed sixth in the shot put with a throw of 10.29 meters.

Coach Innocent Egbunike's Lancers hosted Cerritos, El Camino, Long Beach City, Southwestern and San Bernardino Valley Colleges as well as an international China squad and unattached club performers.
