Le's Jumps Stand Out For Men's Track/Field In Pasadena Invitational

Matthew Le leaped 6-feet-0.75 inches to win the high jump and took third in the long jump to highlight the Pasadena City College men's track and field team at its host Pasadena Invitational held on Mar. 24 at Robinson Stadium.

The Arcadia High product jumped into the state top 20 at #17 in the HJ. Le's 20-3.5 in the LJ was not his season-best (21-4), which is #32 in the state rankings. The Lancers competed against athletes from Southwestern, Compton, San Bernardino Valley, College of the Sequoias, and Santa Ana as well as some club teams.

Frank Macias was second in the javelin with a throw of 133-4, which came up short from his season-best 141-8 done earlier this year. Youssef Cherqaoui placed second in the 1,500 meters (4:26.91) and third in the 800 meter race (2:09.75) among college team representatives. Note--unattached athletes competed but are not being recognized in placements.

William Southam scored third in the 400 meters (51.04 seconds) and Winsor Harmon was fifth (52.97). Matthew Karapetyan took fourth in the 100 meters (11.47 seconds) and seventh in the 200 (23.17). 

Jaden Pena was third in the discus (104-10) and fifth in the shot put (32-4.25).

Coach Innocent Egbunike's Lancers next take part in the Dave Shannon Invitational on April 1 at El Camino College.
