The Pasadena City College men's track and field team continues to see some progress after participating at the El Camino Dave Shannon Invitational on April 1 and then the Glendale Vaquero Classic meet on Saturday.

At the Vaquero Classic, Winsor Harmon raced to seventh  in the 400 meters at 51.71 seconds. Matthew Le, who soared to 20th in the state last month in high jump, placed third with a modest 5-8.75. His 6-0.75 at the Pasadena Invitational on Mar. 24 is his best jump thus far.

Also at Glendale, Matthew Karapetyan sprinted 23.25 for 23rd overall in the 200 meters while Johnathan Macali was 34th in the 800 at 2:08.27. Jaden Pena took ninth in the discus (104-10 feet), and 15th in the shot put (32-8.75).

At the ECC meet, the 4x100 relay squad of William Southam, Chase Eldridge, Harmon and Karapetyan raced a team season-best 52.85, cracking the state top 40. Pena took 17th in the discus, but his season-best toss of 122-6 put him in the state top 50 in 47th. Frank Macias placed sixth in the javelin at 123-3 as he has yet to match the 141-8 he threw at the 2023 beginning SCC Opener meet at Cerritos College back in February.

Eric Nguyen was sixth in the pole vault at 10-3, Le 10th in the long jump (19-11.5), and Youssef Cherqaoui 10th in the 1,500 at 4:25.72. Karapetyan scored 15th in the 200 (23.54) and 18th in the 100 (11.49). Etienne Deleage placed 15th in the 5,000 at 18:31.16.
