Le, Macias Score At SCC Meet For Men's Track and Field

Points were tough to come by for the Pasadena City College men's track and field team as its 2023 season ended with the South Coast Conference Championship meet on April 25 and 29. The Lancers placed sixth out of seven teams.

Jumper Matthew Le was the only Lancer to finish in the state top 25 and he and javelin thrower Frank Macias had the highest Lancers finish in any events, both with fourth places. Le leaped 5-10.75 in the high jump while Macias threw a season-best 144 feet, 1 inch in the javelin.

Le, who was eighth in the long jump at 21-0.75, had a 6-0.75 high jump at the Pasadena Invite that has kept him in the state rankings. Winsor Harmon was ninth in the 400 meters at 50.90. 

Matthew Karapetyan, Harmon, Chase EldridgeJohnathan Macali each took sixth in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. Jaden Pena took 10th in the discus at 109-1. 

PCC scored 16.5 points while Mt. San Antonio ran away with the South Coast team title on 422 points, including winning 14 of 21 events.
