Season-Best Times For PCC Men's Track and Field At Moorpark Meet

The improvements made by the Pasadena City College men's track and field team were evident at the Moorpark Invitational held April 4.

Anthony Pequeno climbed to 11th in the state in the 200 meters with a third-place time of 21.57 and is 16th now in the 400 with another third place at 49.01 in the 400.

The 4x100 relay squad of Devin Hardy, Travon Avery, Pequeno and Jamir Allen raced to second place, but the fastest of the community college teams at Moorpark with a season-best mark of 42.10, good enough for #14 in the state. 

Allen took fourth in the 200 as his 21.74 is now #16 in the state. He placed sixth in the 100 dash, but his 10.84 finish is 30th among California sprinters.

Avery raced to sixth in the 400 (50.63) while Hardy was an 11.20 for 14th in the 100. Avery placed fourth in the high jump with a 5-feet-8.75 inch leap. 

Luca Augustyn moved on to the top 50 (44th) in the 3,000 steeplechase, taking 11th in 11:12.73. 

Kai Sebastian posted a 20-3 in the long jump for eighth place. 

Coach Innocent Egbunike's Lancers next take part in the South Coast Conference Prelims/Championships on April 22 and 26 at Long Beach City College.
