Philycius Oey was the last Lancer racing as he participated in the CCCAA State Cross Country Championships in Fresno on Nov. 20.

A return to the running courses resulted in just one Pasadena City College cross country racer making it to the CCCAA State Championship meet as freshman Philycius Oey placed 138th out of 166 overall runners on Saturday. Oey ran the 4-mile, Fresno Woodward Park course in a time of 22:53.2.

The men's cross country team itself failed to make the state finals after placing 20th out of 25 scoring colleges in the SoCal Regionals at Fountain Valley Mile Square Park. In that race, Oey led the squad in 84th place in 22:16.9. He was followed by season-finale finishes by Ronnie Winn in 94th (22:29.6), Etienne Deleage in 113th (23:18.1), Roux Alaka'i Adalin in 114th (23:19), Sam Regan in 160th (26:41) and Edwin Garcia in 167th (27:44).

The Lancers last placed as a team at the 2016 state meet (27th place), but have sent one individual runner to the '17 and '19 meets after having two qualify at the '18 finals.
