Luca Augustyn stepped up with his best run this year with a 53rd place finish as the Pasadena City College men's cross country team took seventh at the Golden West Central Park Classic held Sept. 22.
Augustyn raced 23 minutes, 46.5 seconds as he was in the top half of the 123-runner field. The Lancers were one of 12 scoring teams over the 4-mile course in Huntington Beach.
Augustyn improved his earliest top time by nearly 50 seconds. Christopher Camarena, the #1 runner for PCC at the first three meets, was in hot pursuit of Augustyn and placed 56th at 24 flat.
Samuel Platz crossed the line in 82nd (25:33), Jaime Loera took 86th (26:03), and Sergio De Los Santos Jr. was 90th (26:40) to close out the scoring runners.
Also racing for PCC were Eriqlee Adame (27:05, 94th) and Aghasi Melkonyan (27:48, 102nd).
The Lancers will next take the course on Oct. 13 at the Mt. SAC Invitational.
