
The Pasadena City College cross country season began Friday as four men and two women runners took part in the South Coast Conference Preview Meet held at Heartwell Park in Long Beach.
The Lancers men saw letterman Luca Augustyn place 18th out of 45 overall runners from five colleges. Augustyn ran a team-best 24 minutes, 17 seconds over a 4-mile course.
Other PCC runners were sophomore Sergio De Los Santos Jr. in 21st (24:56), and freshmen Lucas Plascencia In 24th (25:31.6) and Isaac Otero in 34th (28:46).
On the women's side, only 21 racers took part from four colleges in a 5-kilometer race with Jaylin Morgan placing 13th (24:24) and Guadulupe Cambero in 17th (29:12). Both Morgan and Cambero were members of the '24 PCC women's track and field team.
This Friday, Sept. 6, the Lancers are scheduled to take part in the OC Invite at Oxnard College with the women's race at 10 a.m. and men's race at 11 a.m.
