Ashley Sosa has established herself not only as the Pasadena City College women's cross country team's #1 racer, but one of the top 40 runners in SoCal.

The freshman ran to 39th overall out of a field of 168 student-athletes at the SoCal Preview Meet held at Chaffey College on October 4.

Sosa ran the 5-kilometer course in a time of 22 minutes, 17.2 seconds, making her eighth fastest of South Coast Conference runners. That would put her on a course to possibly earn All-SCC honors.

PCC finished 20th out of 21 scoring teams with the next fastest Lancer being Rubi Ochoa in 95th individually (24:44).

In the men's 4-mile race at the SoCal Preview event, Luca Augustyn was the top Lancer for the third time in four meets this season. Augustyn placed 115th in 24:45.6 while teammate Maxime Slek wasn't far behind in 117th (24:58).

The Pasadena men placed 24th of 27 scoring teams.

Coach Innocent Egbunike's teams will next take part in the Manny Bautista Invitational at NTC Park (hosted by San Diego Mesa College) on Friday, Oct. 11.
