Ashley Sosa raced to a 16th place finish to highlight the Pasadena City College cross country teams' performance at the South Coast Conference Championships held Friday morning at Long Beach's Heartwell Park.
A freshman from Burbank High, Sosa ran a time of 20:45.4 over the 3.1 mile course as she missed out of All-SCC status by just two places.
It's the highest conference finish by a Lancer since Carissa Guardado placed 15th in the 2021 SCC meet. The last Pasadena All-SCC runner was Olivia Ruiz, who was fifth overall at the 2019 SCC race.
The Lancers placed seventh as a team in the meet as Mt. San Antonio won its fourth straight South Coast title.
Jaylin Morgan scored 38th place in 23:14.5 and Rubi Ochoa was 46th in 25:04.
In the men's 4-mile race, the Lancers also placed seventh out of eight teams with Teddie Wen the fastest PCC runner in 56th place (23:14.2).
Maxime Slek was 66th (23:55), Atticus Murphy 69th (24:10.8), Ryan Wun 72nd (24:29), Luca Augustyn 77th (24:48), Sergio De Los Santos Jr. 78th (24:50.5)
