Moreno, Blow Chosen To All-SCC Softball Team

Freshman shortstop Karina Moreno and sophomore rightfielder-first baseman Derek Blow were the Pasadena City College selections on the 2016 All-South Coast Conference Softball Team. 

Chosen to the All-SCC First Team, Moreno (Hoover High, Glendale) finished second in the SCC in on-base percentage (.538) over the 21-game conference season. She was first in walks with 15, fifth in hits with 26, and her .419 batting average was ninth-best in the South Coast. Overall, Moreno finished in the state top 10 in on-base percentage (.551, 10th) and walks (27, seventh). She bat a team-high best .441 and stole 18 bases. 

Blow, a 2-year starter from Monrovia High, made it to the All-SCC Second Team after batting .362 with three home runs and 13 RBI in conference. Overall, Blow batted .327 and was the team leader in homers with five, RBI with 34, and slugging percentage at .533. 

Freshman pitcher Alyssa Madrid was named All-SCC honorable mention. The trio played under the tutelage of PCC head coach Monica Tantlinger.
