Judith Espinoza Signs With Concordia University

Pasadena City College women's basketball star point guard Judith Espinoza, a two-time All-South Coast Conference First Team selection, signed a scholarship offer with Concordia University in Irvine.

Chosen All-State Third Team, Espinoza finished her 2-year PCC career seventh on the Lancers All-Time Scoring List with 910 points. Her 346 assists is No. 2 in that category behind Kinyada Johnson (2007-09, 443). She closed her sophomore year as PCC's leading scorer at 15.8 points a game and added team-leading averages in assists (4.6) and steals (2.7).

Espinoza tied a school playoff scoring record of 35 points in a Southern California Regional victory over Ventura, her second to last game as a Lancer. She holds the PCC record for most assists in a game with 17 set as a freshman.

Espinoza came to PCC after becoming Eagle Rock High's all-time leading scorer and helping it to the LA City Section Division 3 title as a senior. She scored 39 points in the championship game.

At Concordia, a NCAA Division II university, Espinoza will play for head coach Lacey Burns. Espinoza played her two seasons at PCC under long-time head coach Joe Peron.
