Alisa Shinn put on a performance rarely seen in Pasadena City College women's basketball history Friday afternoon. Shinn scored 34 points and grabbed 25 rebounds to lead the Lancers over LA Southwest, 69-46, in the championship semifinals of the 2nd PCC President's Roundball Classic at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

The 6-3 sophomore forward/center Shinn (from Crescenta Valley High) tied the third highest rebound game ever by a Lancer joining just two others to reach 25 boards in Biljana Bosanac (did it three times with a high of 26) and single-game record holder Cheryl Taulton (28, 1987). The only other time that a PCC player scored as many as 30 and pulled down 25 rebounds was the Yugoslavian import Bosanac, who had 33 points and 25 boards in a '93 game v. Long Beach City College. 

Shinn grabbed 10 offensive rebounds and 15 on the defensive end. She made 13 of 20 shots from the field and was 8-for-12 from the free throw line. She was her team's only double-figures scorer, accounting for nearly half of the Lancers' points. Shinn also blocked three shots.

PCC (3-1) will face College of the Sequoias in the PRC tourney final at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11. Sequoias won a close one over Irvine Valley, 57-54, in the other championship semi. In the consolation semis, Citrus eliminated Desert, 65-42, and Pierce eliminated Imperial Valley, 68-62. That sets up 11 a.m. consolation final between Citrus and Pierce while Irvine Valley plays LA Southwest in the third place game at 1 p.m.

Celine Bolton-Ford added nine points and Samaiyah Abdullah had eight points for PCC. Mercy Odima also had a big game on the boards with 17 rebounds with just four points. For LA Southwest (2-2), Karessa Fields scored 19 points.
