
Freshmen shooting guard Lyndsey Valverde and fellow first-year point guard Monica Menzies were the Pasadena City College selections on the 2024-2025 All-South Coast Conference North Division women''s basketball team.
Valverde averaged 16.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 1.9 assists this season and her consistent play allowed her to make the First Team. The lefty shooter fought through a few injures to play in 20 games overall. One of her best games was when she scored a season-high 28 points v. Cerritos.
Menzies started all 27 games for the Lancers and earned All-SCC North Second Team. She averaged 16 points, 4 rebounds and 2.5 assists while leading the entire 10-team conference in steals at 3.4 per contest. She also led the Lancers in 3-point baskets made with 61.
Menzies scored a team season high when she poured in 33 points v. Riverside. Ten times she reached the 20-point or more mark.
The two players were directed by head coach Joe Peron, who completed his 28th season on the Lancers bench.
