The roster of the 2023 Pasadena City College women's soccer team wasn't even born the last time the Lancers won a game at long-time, South Coast Conference rival Cerritos College. A 22-year streak without a victory at the Norwalk campus came to an end on Friday as the state #12-ranked Lancers blanked the host Falcons, 1-0.

That win also stopped an 11-game winning streak v. Lancers teams by home Cerritos teams that dated back to 2007 (2-2 tie).

PCC (11-2-4 overall) improved to 4-2 in SCC play as Megan Schmidt scored her team-leading ninth goal in the 13th minute for the game's only score. Christina Garcia dribbled toward the end line and then lifted a pass over the head of Cerritos goalie Victoria Ruiz with Schmidt immediately knocking it in.

Francesca Agliolo played the first 20 minutes and made three saves, then Natalia Portillo played well over the final 70 minutes in totaling four saves for PCC's eighth team shutout of the season.

PCC is coming off a hard-fought 1-0 loss at #3-rated Mt. San Antonio, the first place team in the SCC North Division. Agliolo made 13 saves and it took a Kathryn Davis goal with nine minutes left to break a 0-0 tie.

The Lancers host Rio Hondo College (8-2-2, 4-1 in SCC games) on Tuesday, Oct. 24. It's a 4 p.m. kickoff at Robinson Stadium.
