Fresh of being voted #3 in the first CCCSIA Women's Soccer State Top 20 Rankings, the Pasadena City College women's soccer team showed it may belong there after a 1-0 victory at #5 Saddleback on Tuesday night.

A perfect 4-0 thus far, PCC also blanked its opponent for the fourth straight time thanks to a game-saving, diving penalty kick save by goalie Francesca Agliolo with just three minutes left before the final whistle.

Agliolo made seven saves overall, including several big stops from close range.

The Lancers scored the contest's lone goal in the 64th minute as Charlie Gallardo sent in a corner kick that Itzel Nunez was able to connect off her thigh to reach the corner of the net.

"Really proud of the way we played," said PCC head coach Terryn Soelberg. "We stuck to our style and executed our game plan. Itzel scored a sensational goal off the corner and Francesca was terrific, especially her PK stop. Charlie, Delilah Vazquez, and Monique Arciniega ran our midfield and played the entire game. Overall, a great team effort."

Three of PCC's wins were by a 1-0 count.

The Lancers next play at Taft College on Friday at 12:30 p.m.
