The question isn't will an opponent defeat the state #3-ranked Pasadena City College women's soccer team, but will the Lancers even allow a goal. For the fifth straight game, PCC recorded a 90-minute shutout of an opponent, this time keeping host Taft off the scoresheet in a 4-0 road victory on Friday.

PCC stays perfect at 5-0 as Hailey Hull scored in the ninth minute off a cross by Delilah Vazquez for what proved to be all the team would need. In the 30th minute, Tatiana Grigoryan netted a penalty kick goal. Nadia Aguilar added a goal off a cross from from Hull 10 minutes into the second half. Then in the 62nd minute, Charlie Gallardo scored on a nifty pass by Angela Puga.

Natalia Portillo played the first 45 minutes at goaltender, making two saves, and Layla Hoyo the last 45 (also two saves) for the combined shutout.

The Lancers have outscored the competition, 11-0, thus far in 2024.

PCC next plays at Santa Barbara City College, the team that beat PCC in the second round of SoCal Regionals last year, in an 11 a.m. game on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
