Women's Swim Gets By Chaffey In SCC Final Dual

The Pasadena City College women's swim team slipped by Chaffey, 98-95, in splitting the final South Coast Conference double dual meet of the 2025 season at El Camino College on Friday. The Lancers lost to host ECC, 154-53.

El Camino swimmers won 13 of the 14 events while Chaffey had the other first place.

The Lancers were paced by Emily Wang, who took second in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events (1:22.57 and 2:59.58), and Elyssa Guevara, who placed second in the 200 backstroke (3:07.05) and third in the 100 butterfly (1:24.55). Genesis Rojas scored third in the 1,000 freestyle (16:14.20) and Jemma Wernberg third in both the 50 and 100 freestyles (31.36 and 1:14.38). 

Yahaira Martinez took third in the 500 freestyle in 7:48.16.

The Lancers placed sixth in the 8-team, SCC dual standings with a 2-5 record.

PCC next participates in co-hosting the Pasadena/ELAC Invitational at East Los Angeles College on April 3-5.
