Earlier this month at the Long Beach City College Viking Invitational, two Pasadena City College women's track and field athletes won their events. Liz Ghazanchian placed first in the discus event with a throw of 115 feet and Bay Hollinger captured the high jump in a leap of 4-9.

Ghazanchian threw her season-best discus at the Cerritos Invitational on Feb. 19 when she placed third with a toss of 116-7. At LBCC on March 11, the Lancers thrower beat the second-place finisher by more than 21 feet. Ghazanchian also placed fourth in the shot put (30-1.5).

Hollinger was one of only three competitors in the high jump, and still needed the 4-9 attempt to win the event after clearing 4-7. At Cerritos, she leaped her season-best 4-11, which allowed her to take third place that day.

Crystal Ludwig placed her season-best throw to finish sixth in the javelin (77-7). Ludwig was 12th overall (and second in her heat) in the 100 meters (13.9 seconds) and 18th in the 200 meters (28.66 seconds). Ludwig ran a 13.81 (11th) in the 100 at the Cerritos Invite

Estrella Camacho-Rodriguez scored 12th in the 1,500 meters (6:35.07) and 14th in the 800 meters (3:08.56). Hannah Collazo took sixth in the discus (82-2) and eighth in the shot put (26-10).

Head Coach Innocent Egbunike and his Pasadena squad will be on its home track at Robinson Stadium this Friday, March 25 when the Lancers host the PCC Relays.
