Pasadena City College women's track and field sprinter Ajes Phillips broke the minute mark in the 400 meters at the Cal State Los Angeles Invitational on Mar. 15 as her 59.97 seconds time places her #4 among South Coast Conference racers and currently #14 in the state.

Three 4-year university runners were ahead of her at CSULA meet, but only Cuyamaca's Deja Thomas raced faster at 59.88 as the sophomore Phillips was sixth overall.

Jaylin Morgan's 26.62 in the 200 meters in the season-opening SCC meet is still her fastest time, but that leaves her 12th in the conference. Morgan is ninth in the SCC in the 400 as she ran 1:01.92 at the Long Beach Viking Invitational on Mar. 8.

At Cal State LA, Melissa Le took fourth in the javelin (99 feet, 1 inch) and placed sixth in the discus (101-0), Sabrina Roman finished ninth in both the 800 (2:52.05) and the 1,500 (5:57.87), and Julianna Antunez was seventh in the long jump (13-1.25).

The Lancers next participate in the El Camino College Dave Shannon Invitational on Saturday, Mar. 30.
