Sophomore sprinter Jaylin Morgan ran the fastest 200 meters in the state this season in winning the race at the Pasadena Invite held Friday at Pasadena City College's Robinson Stadium. It was the Lancers lone home meet in 2025.

Morgan raced a blistering 24.81 seconds, edging an unnattached runner at the finish line to record the fastest mark thus far among California Community College student-athletes. Additionally, Morgan's. 57.83 mark in the 400 meters, finishing in second place to current state event leader Jasmin Trujillo of Orange Coast, is now #5 in the state in that event.

Freshman Deniya Fields scored a win in the 800 meters, but her 2:22.03 mark was far from matching her state #2 time of 2:17.55 performed two weeks ago at the Long Beach Invitational. Fields holds the seventh fastest time in the 400 from the OCC Classic when she recorded a 57.96.

Frosh Ireja Lauderdale placed third in the 100, but her 12.54 finish moved her to 24th in the state listings. Anaya Tryon's 12.64 heat mark is 31st.

First-year racer Ashley Sosa was also third in the 800 with her 2:27.94 moving her to 29th in the state.

The Lancers unveiled their 4x400 relay squad for the first time this season as the group of Tryon, Sosa, Fields and Morgan placed second to Orange Coast, but their 4:07.87 is the state's 10th fastest mark. In the 4x100, Brianna Fisher, Morgan, Lauderdale, and Fields raced to second place with the 15th best time in the state at 49.86 seconds. Orange Coast won that race at 49.62.

Ellen Kim took seventh in the 1,500 (6:13.16).

Coach Innocent Egbunike's Lancers next take part in the El Camino College Dave Shannon Invitational on Saturday, Mar. 29.
