Home Hitting Keeps Women's VB Perfect At Hutto-Patterson Gym

All of a sudden, the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team is hitting with a purpose. The Lancers continued a stretch of impressive, effiicient offense in sweeping Chaffey, 25-18, 25-12, 25-8, Friday on Sophomore Night at PCC. The victory allowed PCC to stay perfect in home matches at 8-0. 

PCC improved to 15-8 overall and now 5-1 in South Coast Conference North Division play. The Lancers are setting up a potential showdown for the division title on Wednesday, Nov. 16 when they host first-place Mt. San Antonio. 

Pasadena hit .426 against Chaffey, making just seven errors in 94 attempts. Letterman opposite Rayleen Rivera slammed 13 kills (.522) and outside hitter Paige Clingaman delivered 11 kills (.435). Freshman middle hitters Lania Potter and Chyna Peeler continued their string of accurate hitting. 

In the past five matches, Potter, who tallied five kills v. Chaffey, has 27 kills in 62 attempts with just one error. Peeler pounded eight kills and is on a streak of 21 kills in 27 attempts (two errors) over the last three matches. 

Sophomore setter Hannah Clarke dished out 16 assists with seven digs and two aces while frosh setter Emily Leung picked up 17 assists with three aces and six digs. Reserve sophomore opposite Shawna Ogata added four kills and two blocks. 

Edit Change--The Lancers travel to face East Los Angeles on Friday, Nov. 11 in a 6 p.m. conference match.
