Women's Volleyball's Bia Silva Signs With D1 UC Riverside

Bia Silva, a 2022 All-South Coast Conference First Team setter, is moving her talents to NCAA Division I UC Riverside after a brilliant 2-year career for the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team.

Silva tallied five triple-doubles in kills, set assists and digs during the 2022 season as the Lancers lone sophomore. She helped the team to a 17-8 season, a postseason playoff berth as a #8 seed, and a state #17 final ranking.

Silva had the distinction of twice being named CCCWVCA State Player of the Week, once in each of her PCC seasons.

The 5-foot-10 Silva, from Loma Linda Academy, set a school record for highest aces per set in a season at .7294 (minimum 50 aces landed) as she recorded team highs in aces (62) and assists (528).

As the most versatile player to ever play under head coach Mike Terrill, she is the only Lancer in school history to total at least 700 assists, 300 attack kills, 300 digs, 90 aces and 50 block kills in a career.

As a freshman in 2021, she played for an undefeated in conference (18-0) SCC champion team that finished 23-2 overall, earned a SoCal #2 seeding, put together a 20-match win streak and were #15 ranked in the final state poll.
