After an extra week off due to a postponement of last week's contest v. College of the Desert, the Pasadena City College football team returned to action on Saturday night. The Lancers raced to a 45-0 lead by the end of three quarters and coasted to a 45-14, SCFA non-league road victory over Victor Valley.

PCC upped its record to 3-0 and once again were paced by three key offensive weapons in running back Micah Mendoza, wide receiver/returner Flip Fox, and quarterback Gianni Mascolino

Mendoza rushed 15 times for 159 yards, including a 27-yard touchdown scamper down the far sideline for PCC's first score in the first quarter.

Fox took the second-half kickoff and returned it 72 yards for his second return TD while Mascolino, who is the team's second string quarterback, fired touchdown passes of 4 yards to Deven Muniz, 24 yards to Josh Soto, and a 60-yard bomb to Josh Barron. Mascolino completed 10 of 15 throws for 181 yards overall.

Starting QB Kaden Taylor added a 7-yard keeper for a TD while kicker Ozlo Rigby booted a 28-yard field goal, two extra points, and five touchbacks on kickoffs. Rigby also had a 20-yard first down carry on a fake punt.

Barron led the receivers with four catches for 123 yards.

Defensively, 2023 All-American cornerback Idrique Carmichael made a 13-yard interception return and a broke up a pass. Julius Ray added a sack and a hurry.

The Lancers totaled 480 offensive yards and the first-string defense limited the Rams (0-4) to just 80 offensive yards in the first three quarters.

PCC will have a rematch of last year's American Bowl next Saturday, Oct. 5 when it faces American champion Chaffey in a 6 p.m. kickoff at Robinson Stadium. Last year, the Panthers handed PCC both of its losses in a 9-2 season.
