The awards continue to roll in for the 2024 SCFA American Division champion and undefeated Pasadena City College football team.
Sophomore running back Micah Mendoza was selected All-American First Team by the California Community College Football Coaches Association/JC Athletic Bureau. He is the only player from the entire, 12-team American Division to be chosen to the prestigious 15-member, First Team Offense.
Meanwhile, 10 Lancers were selected All-State Region IV with Mendoza picked as Offensive Player of the Year and PCC Director of Football Operations/Head Coach Robert Tucker named Region IV Coach of the Year. Pasadena completed a perfect 11-0 season under Tucker's guidance.
In nine games played, Mendoza was second in the American Pacific League in rushing with 695 yards in 124 carries for a 5.6 yards per carry average, scoring eight touchdowns on the ground. The 5-foot-11, 205-pound, Pasadena High product had three straight 100-yard plus performances, 159 v. Victor Valley, 141 v. Chaffey, and 101 v. Santa Monica.
He scored a touchdown in PCC's American Division Championship Bowl victory over Chaffey on Nov. 30.
