Position: Sports Performance Coordinator/Strength & Conditioning

In his second year at Pasadena City College, Justin Magallanez serves as the program's sports performance coordinator and strength and conditioning coach in 2022. His work paid off with the Lancers winning nine of 11 games and the program earning its first bowl win since 2008.

Magallanez previously handled strength and conditioning duties at Cerritos College in 2018-2019. 

Magallanez connection to community college football goes back to when he was an All-Foothill Conference and All-State center at Chaffey College in 2003-2004. He earned a scholarship to Azusa Pacific University and played two seasons as a starting offensive lineman, including being named to the NAIA Victor Sports Senior Classic All-Star Game as a senior in 2006. He graduated APU with a B.A. degree in exercise science in 2007.

He later earned a master's degree in biomechanics at the University of Colorado in 2012.

Magallanez has worked in the strength and conditioning field in the past decade, helping the progress of athletes at the college, high school and professional level.
