  • Living In a Sports Shutdown--Awards, State Meet Goals Dashed For PCC Women's Swimmer Carmen Ung

    Last year, Pasadena CIty College women's swim phenom Carmen Ung set three school records, was named South Coast Conference Co-Swimmer of the Year, and scored a silver medal in the 100-yard breaststroke at the 2019 CCCAA State Championship Meet. Ung was poised to break more records and possibly earn a coveted state title in two breaststroke events before the season was cancelled last month due to the worldwide health crisis. 
  • Ung Posts 2nd Fastest 200 Butterfly In PCC Women's Swim History

    Carmen Ung fittingly raced by herself Friday during the 200-yard butterfly event. Her 2:18.82 time in the solo race was the second fastest mark in Pasadena City College women's swim team history as she went on to win all three of her events in helping the Lancers defeat visiting Chaffey, 164-79, in a South Coast Conference dual meet.

    The Pasadena City College women's swim team placed fifth out of 10 teams with 340 points at the Clovis Invitational held Feb. 21-22 in Northern California.
  • Letterman Carmen Ung Ready To Lead PCC Women's Swim Into 2020 Season

    After a brilliant freshman campaign when she set school records in the 50, 100 and 200-yard breaststroke swims, Carmen Ung is back to pace the Pasadena City College women's swim team in 2020. Ung also will try to extend an amazing streak to eight years for a PCC swimmer to win the South Coast Conference Swimmer of the Year award.
