    Sophomores Enrique Lozano and Yusef Muhammad led a list of 15 Pasadena City College football players selected to the 2017 SCFA All-Metro League Team. Lozano was a unanimous choice by coaches as a punter on the First Team Defense while Yusef Muhammad was the same as punt returner on First Team Defense. The two Lancers are 2-time, All-Metro First Team selections with Lozano selected at kicker and Muhammad as kick returner as freshmen.

    A winning season will have to wait yet another year for the Pasadena City College football team. The Lancers did finish .500 at 5-5, but haven't been above that mark since 2008. It was the first .500 season in eight years for a program yearning for improvement.

PCC is tied for first place with Santa Ana, both at 4-0.

The Lancers won their fourth in a row, and remain undefeated in SCFA Metro League play at 3-0 behind a 38-7 triumph over Glendale College before an excited crowd at Robinson Stadium Saturday night.

    Down 14-0 to visiting West Los Angeles College midway through the first quarter, the Pasadena City College football team mounted one of the great scoring runs in school history Saturday night. The Lancers scored 58 consecutive points on eight touchdowns and a safety before the bewildered Wildcats finally answered for the game's final TD in the fourth quarter.

    Pasadena City College football team freshman quarterback Isaia Ah-Hing and letterman kicker-punter Enrique Lozano were named SCFA Metro League Players of the Week for week No. 4. The pair helped the Lancers rally to defeat Southwestern, 38-34, on Saturday for PCC's first win of the season.

    After using three different starting quarterbacks in its first three losses, the Pasadena City College football team turned to its fourth QB in four weeks in Isaia Ah-Hing. The freshman from Rosemead High isn't likely to be passed up again by the coaching staff after leading the Lancers to a 38-34 come-from-behind victory over Southwestern Saturday at Robinson Stadium. The win snapped the program's 5-game losing streak dating back to last year.

    After trailing by as much as 20 points late in the first half, the Pasadena City College football team rallied to cut it to 30-26 early in the fourth quarter of its SCFA non-league game at Allan Hancock College. The Lancers though couldn't finish the comeback as the Bulldogs sealed a 37-26 home win on a 30-yard touchdown interception return by Mystikal Wilson with two minutes left.

    Saturday's loss at San Bernardino Valley College didn't stop the Pasadena City College football team from sweeping the three SCFA Players of the Week awards for the Metro League. Transfer wide receiver Stevie Williams won Top Offensive Player, letterman plackicker-punter Enrique Lozano Top Special Teams and freshman cornerback Albert Louis was named Top Defensive Player.

But the Vikings never let up on offense and dominated the final three quarters in a season-opening, 52-17 SCFA non-conference victory at Robinson Stadium Saturday night.

    You have to go back to 2008 for the last winning season by the Pasadena City College football team. It was also the last year that a Lancers team advanced to a postseason bowl game as they went 7-4 and won the Santa Barbara Tremblay Services Bowl title. As PCC enters its 93rd year on the gridiron, there is a renewed excitement in the air as the program opens the 2017 season against perennial state power Long Beach City College on Saturday, Sept. 2. Kickoff is 6 p.m. at on-campus Robinson Stadium.

    Pasadena City College has named Steven Mojarro interim head football coach, effective immediately. He replaces Tom Maher, who will continue his position as a tenured faculty member within the Kinesiology, Heath & Athletics Division.

    In the second year of a two-year cycle, the Pasadena City College football team will have an identical 10-game regular season, 2017 schedule that matches the 2016 opponents. However, the Lancers will now switch sites with all 10 colleges this year.
